Flag Spotlight
This is Flag Spotlight, a page I update every now and then where I show of a particularly interesting flag and go into more detail on its history and design. This information will eventually be added to the regular info page of said flag as well.
Flag Spotlight 1: 25th of March - "The Worst Start Ever"
I'm realizing this is a huge mistake.
For my first flag I wanted to start of with something great, amazing and seriously underrated. Then I realized I would never be happy with what I chose anyway. So instead I went for the complete opposite:

This is why we can't have nice things.
So why did I choose this flag to show for the first Flag Spotlight? Well, because first of all, it's balances nicely between "awful-funny" and "amazing funny"

Secondly, it has a rather interesting history.

It was a part of a contest in New Zealand in 2016 to redesign their country's flag, since it looks very similar to the flag of Australia. This meant that we got some lovely designs out of it, which I will probably display in a later Flag Spotlight. But we also got a lot of people taking the piss out of everything, as people do.

And that is where thjs flag comes in

It was designed by James Gray, who of the flag said:
"The laser beam projects a powerful image of New Zealand. I believe my design is so powerful it does not need to be discussed,"

I agree, what more is left to be said.

Tune back some other time for a new (and hopefully, well) designed flags that most people don't know about!

See you!
